RM Italy MLA300 HF Linear Amplifiers are broadband linear amplifiers designed for operation from 1.8 to 30 MHz (160–10 meters), delivering up to 300 watts of average output power. It supports input power levels from 1 to 15 watts, making it compatible with most modern QRP transceivers. Powered by four MACOM MRF455 transistors in two parallel push-pull AB-mode circuits, the MLA300 provides clean, reliable operation for SSB, CW, AM, FM, and digital modes.
Key Features:
- Automatic Filtering: Six low-pass filters (3, 4, 5, 8, 15, 22, 31 MHz) reduce harmonics and are auto-selected via a built-in microprocessor or manually controlled.
- Protection Systems: Built-in safeguards prevent damage from overdrive, high SWR, out-of-band use, or overheating. Faults are indicated by audible error codes.
- Easy Setup: Connect your transceiver to the RTX input with a 50-ohm coax cable, antenna to the output, and a 13VDC power supply capable of 40A. For mobile use, connect directly to the vehicle battery with short, heavy duty DC cables.
- RF Sense: Automatically switches to transmit without a PTT cable, though a PTT input (active low) is available.
The front display shows output power, SWR, and active filter. It tolerates mismatched antennas up to 2.5:1 VSWR, however for continuous modes like FM or data, monitor temperature during long transmissions. With its two cooling fans installed on the heat sink and proper ventilation, it performs reliably.
